How it works

  1. 1

    Paste both texts

Add optional labels like "Original" or "Revised", then paste each text into its panel. Up to 8,000 characters each.

  2. 2

    Pick an analysis type

Choose General, Similarity & Overlap, Grammar & Style, Content & Meaning, or Version Diff depending on what you need.

  3. 3

    Read or copy the result

The AI streams a structured Markdown analysis. Copy it into a document, email, or feedback tool.

Why use an AI text comparison tool?

  • Five analysis modes

Go beyond simple diff — analyse similarity, style quality, argument strength, or track every change between two versions.

  • Custom labels

Name each text (Original, Revised, Student, Reference) so the AI uses your labels throughout its analysis for clarity.

  • Structured output

Results are organised with ## headings for each area of analysis — easy to scan, copy, or paste into feedback.

  • Streams in seconds

Analysis begins streaming almost immediately, so you start reading results before the full response is complete.

  • Draft auto-saved

Both texts and your selected settings are saved in the browser — never lose work when you navigate away.

  • History of comparisons

Every comparison is saved to your history so you can revisit, re-read, or copy results at any time.

Who uses an AI text comparison tool?

Anyone who works with two versions of text — editors, writers, teachers, analysts, and developers.

✏️

Editors & writers

Compare a draft against a revised version to understand what changed, whether the edits improved the text, and what was cut or added.

🎓

Teachers & academics

Compare a student submission against a reference text to identify overlap, paraphrasing, or areas where the student's argument diverges.

📑

Legal & compliance teams

Track changes between contract versions — identify added clauses, removed language, and rewording that may affect meaning.

🧑‍💻

Product & content teams

Compare two versions of website copy, product descriptions, or documentation to understand the scope of changes before publishing.

🔍

Researchers & analysts

Compare two articles, reports, or sources on the same topic to identify where their claims, conclusions, or methodology differ.

📝

Students & self-editors

Compare your own draft against a stronger reference text to understand stylistic and structural gaps — a practical self-editing exercise.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account to use this tool?
Yes — a signed-in account is required because the comparison runs on our servers and uses credits.
What is the maximum text length?
Each text can be up to 8,000 characters. For longer documents, compare key sections individually.
What are the five analysis types?
General gives a balanced overview of similarities, differences, tone, and style. Similarity & Overlap quantifies shared content and flags paraphrased passages. Grammar & Style assesses writing quality and readability. Content & Meaning compares arguments, facts, and conclusions. Version Diff treats Text A as the original and Text B as a revision, tracking what was added, removed, or changed.
Can I label the texts?
Yes — you can give each text a custom label (e.g. "Original", "Revised", "Student Essay", "Reference Text") and the AI will use those labels throughout its analysis.
Is this tool useful for checking plagiarism?
The Similarity & Overlap mode can identify near-identical passages and paraphrased content between two texts. It works well for comparing a submission against a reference. It is not a dedicated plagiarism database scanner.
Are my texts kept private?
Texts are sent to our AI service only to generate the comparison. They are not stored in a readable form beyond your own history, and are not used for training.
